the visitors
This past weekend SF Friend Richard came to visit and brought with him new friend Matt. He also brought his camera, which, as per usual, means snapshots of our lives are prettier than reality.

and the nominees are...
The Oscar noms are in.I can't tell you how over Benjamin Gump I am, and how Slumdog's shiney bollywood vaneer is cracking and showing cliches (though I'll take it over Button any day).
I'm not one of those fanboys who are going to rail about Dark Knight being snubbed for picture and director. The third act of the movie, to me, always killed its chances.
It looks like two of my favorite films of the year actually got little to no love at all: Happy-Go-Lucky and In Bruges (which is now on dvd!).

spaceman
Spent the last part of my winter vacation sick and speechless (the sore throat took the voice). I did get to spend a wonderful day drawing tho. Hopefully seeing more of that soon.
New Doctor Who looks better on film than in stills. After watching the new Confidential I'm very optimistic.
Today I've been listening to the Killers' Spaceman and Sigur Rós' Hoppípolla on a constant loop.
